Cloud Watching

When we pause to look up from our earthbound scurrying, we will see that the skies offer an ever-changing drama.

Clouds shift and flow and move: the sky is never the same two seconds in a row.

As the sun moves, so the colours change and the interplay between the wind, the temperature and the sun create spectacles of infinite variety.

Clouds will form themselves into fantastic shapes, even for a second appearing to resemble an object from our world: a rabbit, a saucepan, a dragon or a heart.

Then they are gone, ever-changing, formless yet with form, solid yet fluid at once.

Clouds are natures poetry.

"Look up, marvel at the ephemeral beauty and live life with your head in the clouds"

"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky"
~~ Rabindranath Tagore

We should all do a bit of cloud watching now and then, that's why walks are good.

@Debra - Thanks, finding the right music for the post gives me a feeling of great satisfaction.......sometimes it takes longer to find the song than to write the post!

@Christine - 100% correct my friend. Also if you are lucky enough, sitting of a bench overlooking the ocean can be mesmerizing.

Simple things can and should be enjoyed. This is what life is all about.

@Bill - A beautiful sentiment my friend. The simple things - it's just a matter of taking the time out of our day to be in the present and immerse ourselves in them.

There have been some beautiful cloudy skies over Edinburgh in recent weeks, Peggy. Nature can be awesome.

@Mike - Pleased you have noticed the beautiful cloudy skies - the operative word being "beautiful". Hope the grand kids are enjoying watching the clouds float by too. xxxx

Beautiful sunset photo Love it. We enjoyed last weekend watching the clouds peeking over the mountains and then jumping over. A great play to watch indeed. Love the lines from Tagore an amazing poet.

I used to look at the clouds everyday and marvel at how they made shapes and the beginning and of the day would change the colors of the sky. Every morning and evening I would marvel at the sunrise and sunset and send pictures to Bobby and he would send them to me. Not so much anymore. By the way, I love this song. It's been little bit since I've heard it. It's also been a while since I have been an active member of the blogging community so I don't make it to anyone else's page either. It's amazing how much a part of my life this world was and how chatty I used to be online. Now my life consists of 144 character blurbs and clicking "like".

Hello my dear friend Annemarie, how lovely to read a comment from you.
I know you still miss Bobby terribly but he left you with such wonderful memories like watching clouds and beautiful coloured sunrise and sunsets and many many other thing.

I'm still hanging on by a thread with the blogging community because I remember with such joy the interaction with my blogging friends.

Memories truly are a wonderful gift......maybe that will be my next blog post.

Take care dear friend.
Big heart hugs
